Privacy carries weight at PreviewNeo (“we”, “our”, “us”). Below you will find what gets collected on a visit to https://www.previewneo.com/ and its associated subdomains (together, the “Website”), the purposes it serves, and the control that stays with you.
Carrying on with the Website means these practices are accepted.
Behind the Website
PreviewNeo covers digital products and software through reviews, comparisons, rankings and roundups, coupon and deal posts, how-to guides and tutorials, and general blog articles. We do not sell, host or supply the products we write about.
Privacy matters of any kind should go to admin [a] previewneo.com.
What These Words Mean
Cookie — a small piece of data a website saves in your browser. Cookies identify your browser, support analytics, and remember preferences such as language.
Device — any internet-connected device used to visit the Website, such as a phone, tablet or computer.
IP address — a number assigned to every device connected to the internet. It can indicate the general location a device is connecting from.
Personal data — any information that identifies you, or could identify you when combined with other information.
Third-party service — an advertiser, affiliate network, analytics provider or other company whose services appear on or support the Website.
You — any visitor to the Website.
What We Collect
Collected automatically
When you visit, our servers and third-party services may record your IP address and approximate location, browser and device type, the pages you viewed, the links you clicked, the site or search engine that referred you, and the date and time of your visit.
Behind all of that sit cookies, server logs and similar technologies. It does not normally identify you personally.
Collected from you
Whatever personal information we have arrived because you supplied it:
- Contact form or email: your name, email address and message
- Newsletter, if you subscribe: your email address and, optionally, your name
What we never collect
We do not collect or store payment card details, bank details or financial account information. Every purchase you make happens on the vendor’s own website, under their terms and privacy policy.
How We Use It
Here is what the information above is put toward:
- Deliver, maintain and secure the Website
- Understand which content readers find useful and improve what we publish
- Reply to messages you send us
- Send emails you have asked to receive
- Attribute affiliate referrals correctly
- Detect and prevent fraud, spam and abuse
- Show you relevant advertising for our own content and offers on other platforms, where you have consented (see Retargeting and Audience Building below)
- Comply with legal obligations
Legal Bases for Processing (EU, EEA and UK Visitors)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR governs the processing, it rests on one of these:
- Consent — for non-essential cookies, for marketing emails, and for including your details in retargeting or custom audiences. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests — for website security, aggregate analytics and affiliate attribution, where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligation — where we are required by law to retain or disclose information.
Cookies and Tracking
Our cookies
Essential cookies keep the Website working — page delivery, security and your cookie preferences.
Analytics cookies help us see which pages are read and how visitors arrive. This data is aggregated and is not used to identify individuals.
Third-party cookies
Affiliate tracking cookies are set by vendors and affiliate networks when you click a link to a product we review. They tell the vendor you arrived from our Website so any commission is correctly attributed. These cookies are set by the network or vendor, not by us, and are governed by their privacy policies.
Advertising cookies, where advertising appears on the Website, may be set by ad networks to limit repeat ads and measure performance.
Where a third party sets a cookie, control passes out of our hands, and their data stays invisible to us.
Managing cookies
You control non-essential cookies, including analytics and advertising cookies, through your own browser settings, which let you block, restrict or delete them at any time.
Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the Website working. Blocking affiliate cookies does not change the price you pay or your ability to buy anything.
Disabling a cookie in your browser does not delete cookies already stored — you will need to clear those yourself.
Retargeting and Audience Building
Our own content and offers can be shown again to anyone who has already visited the Website or joined our email list. Retargeting, or remarketing, is the name for this.
It runs along two paths:
- Cookie-based retargeting. Advertising platforms set a cookie or tracking pixel when you visit, which lets us show our ads to you later on other websites and platforms. We use the Meta Pixel, which records actions you take on the Website — such as which pages you view — and reports them to Meta. Meta holds that information under its own privacy policy.
- List-based custom audiences. Where you have given us your email address, we may provide a hashed, non-readable version of it to an advertising platform such as Meta so our ads reach you rather than an unrelated audience.
Nothing here extends past promoting what we publish and offer. We do not provide your details to the vendors whose products we review, and we do not permit advertising platforms to use your information for their own purposes beyond matching our audience.
You can opt out at any time. Block or delete advertising cookies through your browser settings, unsubscribe from our emails, or email us at admin [a] previewneo.com to be excluded from our custom audiences. You can also manage ad personalisation in the advertising platform’s own ad preferences.
Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no common industry standard for how websites should respond to it, and we currently do not respond to Do Not Track signals. You can control tracking through your browser settings, and by emailing us at admin [a] previewneo.com.
Who We Share Information With
Service providers running parts of the Website are the only ones who receive anything, and each gets no more than their role calls for:
- Hosting and website infrastructure providers
- Analytics providers
- Email service providers, where a newsletter is offered
- Affiliate networks, including Amazon Associates, CJ Affiliate, ClickBank, ShareASale, JVZoo and WarriorPlus
- Advertising platforms, including Meta, where you have consented to retargeting, as described above
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your email address with the vendors whose products we review, and we do not provide your personal data to advertisers or marketing partners for their own purposes.
The only exception is the retargeting described above, where a hashed version of your email address may be matched by an advertising platform so we can reach you with our own content. Under California law this may count as “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising, and you can opt out at any time.
Beyond that, disclosure can follow from a legal requirement, from enforcing our Terms, or from protecting the rights, property or safety of the Website, our readers or the public.
Change of Ownership
Were PreviewNeo sold, merged, or to transfer substantially all of its assets, information held about you might travel to the acquiring party, subject to that party agreeing to honour the terms of this Privacy Policy.
How Long We Keep Information
Nothing is kept beyond what the purposes in this policy call for, or beyond what the law obliges.
Type of information and reason for holding it together decide the span:
- Contact messages are kept while your enquiry is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, in case you get in touch again about the same matter
- Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe, after which we retain the minimum needed to honour your opt-out
- Analytics data is kept in line with the retention settings of our analytics provider
- Server logs are kept for the period needed to investigate security and performance issues
Whoever processes information for us follows the same approach. When the need has passed and no legal or regulatory reason to retain it stands, we delete it or anonymise it so you can no longer be identified.
International Transfers
The Website is operated from outside the European Economic Area, and data may be stored or processed by our providers in a range of countries, among them the United States and countries in the European Union.
Where personal data originating in the EU, EEA or UK is transferred outside those regions, we rely on the safeguards our providers have in place, such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, or an applicable adequacy decision.
How We Keep It Secure
Reasonable technical and organisational measures stand behind what we hold, encrypted connections (HTTPS) and restricted access among them.
Promising absolute security is beyond what any website can honestly do. Neither people nor systems are infallible, and we cannot warrant that information transmitted over the internet is completely secure.
Your Rights
If you are in the EU, EEA or UK
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectification — have inaccurate data corrected
- Erasure — have your data deleted
- Restriction of processing in certain circumstances
- Data portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.
If you are a California resident
Under the CCPA, as amended by the CPRA, you have the right to:
- Know and access the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the sources, the purposes, and the parties we share it with
- Delete personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate personal information
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, including sharing for cross-context behavioural advertising
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information
- Equal service — we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights
We do not sell personal information.
We do carry out retargeting, as described above. Where cookies set by advertising providers, or a hashed email address matched to a custom audience, constitute “sharing” for cross-context behavioural advertising under California law, you may opt out at any time through your browser settings, by unsubscribing, or by emailing admin [a] previewneo.com.
If you are elsewhere
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and to withdraw consent to its processing. We will honour these requests as far as applicable law allows.
How to exercise your rights
Email admin [a] previewneo.com with your request. We may ask you to confirm your identity before we act on it. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Please note that removing every trace of information is not always technically possible. Backups exist to protect against data loss, and a copy may persist in a non-erasable form for a limited period. We will update or delete data in our active systems as soon as is reasonably practicable.
Children’s Privacy
This is a website for adults and is not directed at children.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13, or under 16 where local law sets that threshold.
Parents or guardians who suspect their child has given us personal information can write to admin [a] previewneo.com, and we will delete it from our systems.
Where Our Links Go
Links from here run to vendor websites, affiliate networks and third-party review platforms. None of those sit under this Privacy Policy.
Follow one and the privacy policy of wherever you arrive governs what happens from that point. Those sites may set their own cookies and collect their own information. Look over their privacy policy before giving them anything.
Policy Updates
Shifts in our practices or in the law may bring an update to this Privacy Policy. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Where a change materially affects how we use your personal information, we will highlight it on the Website.
Continuing to use the Website after a change means you accept the updated policy.
